There’s no end of small, isolated American towns seemingly terrorised by the forces of evil … so it’s off to the remote Alaska town of Barrow just as the long, dark winter is about to arrive.

Sheriff Oleson (Hartnett) and the unsuspecting citizens are also about to be visited by crazed, blood-thirsty vampires seeking victims and determined to leave nobody alive to tell the tale.

It’s an above average horror film with plenty of hair-raising moments, though it could have done with a stronger, better considered, ending. Still, it’s better than most vampire movies.
