Robert De Niro is returning to his Mafia-character roots with acclaimed director Michael Mann.

The two-time Oscar winning actor, best known for gangster movies including 'Goodfellas' and 'Casino', and Mann last joined forces on the critically-acclaimed 1995 crime thriller 'Heat'.
