A fine cast struggles in Martian Child

So when sci-fi writer John Cusack, recently widowed, and female friend Peet adopt a little lad (Coleman) they fall prey to his tall tales of being recently arrived from Mars.

It’s just his little ways … but why are strange things happening?

It’s a film – albeit one with a fine cast – that struggles to climb above the average, even if the basic idea is a promising one.
