Cheryl Cole has revealed what her dream job would have been had she not got into Girls Aloud - she would have aspired to be a "forensic detective".

The pop star, married to footballer Ashley Cole, told Real Radio she is fascinated by the idea of helping to solve crimes using forensics.

Her comments come after some education experts sparked controversy by dubbing 'Wags' good role models because they are usually far better educated than their other halves.

Cole, 24, said: "If I'd had had a sensible head on me shoulders when I was younger, at school and stuff, I'd have loved to have gone into, like, forensic detective (sic)."

The singer added: "I find it fascinating … you know like which way the blood is splattered and stuff."

Her bandmates said: "She likes all that stuff."

Girls Aloud release their fifth album, 'Tangled Up', next month, amid reports that Nadine Coyle has already signed up with a US manager to break America when the band splits up.
