Voice problems force The Police to cancel gigs

Pop veterans The Police have cancelled two concerts because frontman Sting is suffering "serious voice problems".

Performances in Antwerp, Belgium on Tuesday and Mannheim, Germany yesterday were axed by tour organisers.

A post on the singer's website reveals he has a throat infections and that doctors have "advised him to rest".

The gigs are part of a reunion world tour that kicked off in May, 21 years after the band's last major live performance.
