McCartney and Mills agree $100m divorce settlement

Paul McCartney and Heather Mills have agreed a $100m (€144m) divorce settlement, according to reports.

The pair attended a secret meeting before a judge at London's Royal Courts Of Justice on Monday in a bid to avoid media attention.

McCartney and Mills, who wed in 2002 before splitting four years later, reportedly wanted to avoid a public hearing, and were keen to settle the dispute ahead of their daughter Beatrice's fourth birthday on October 30.

They will meet again at the High Court Family division on Thursday to finalise the agreement.

A source tells British newspaper The Sun: "Both Paul and Heather wanted closure on the case before Bea's birthday. It looks like that'll now happen."

It is believed The Beatles legend - worth an estimated $1.7bn (€1.bn million) - has requested a gagging clause which will prevent Mills from talking about their four-year marriage.
