Doherty denies suicide-bid claims

British rocker Pete Doherty has dismissed reports he recently attempted to commit suicide, branding the allegations completely false.

The Babyshambles frontman was reportedly so upset at hearing his supermodel ex Kate Moss was romantically involved with The Kills star Jamie Hince, he tried to overdose by taking an entire bottle of pills.

The claims were made by the troubled singer's minder, Johnny Jeannevol, who revealed all to British newspaper the News Of The World on Sunday - but Doherty's manager, Andy Boyd has denied the reports, saying they are "totally untrue".

Doherty, who last week checked out of a rehab clinic in Wiltshire, England after managing to stay clean for six weeks, split with Moss in July after he was accused of cheating on her with a mystery brunette.

He is now engaged to marry singer/model Irina Lazareanu.
