Allen to star in Pride and Prejudice' spoof
British singer Lily Allen has landed her first leading film role in a movie spoof of writer Jane Austen's classic novel 'Pride & Prejudice'.
The Smile hitmaker will play Lydia Bennett in Jane Austen Handheld, a $5m British production.
Hollywood stars Stephen Fry and Carrie Fisher will play her character's parents.
Allen's previous movie experience is limited to a small part in 1998 period drama Elizabeth, in which she was one of five women cast as a 'Lady In Waiting'.
