Garner fulfils theatre dream

Jennifer Garner is fulfilling a lifelong ambition by taking to the Broadway stage.

Garner will star alongside Kevin Kline in a revival of Cyrano De Bergerac, which opens in New York on November 1.

She says: "Theatre's always been my absolute dream of all dreams, and all this other stuff that I've done has been accidental.

"I only ended up auditioning for television and movies because I was understudying a Turgenev play on Broadway. I was so broke that, when I got a mini-series, I had to take it, and was so ashamed because I was such a snob.

"I couldn't pass this up. Working with Kevin Kline, being in New York in the fall. I get so excited."
