Blunt flirts with Degeneres

Singer James Blunt asked US TV host Ellen Degeneres out on her show on Wednesday, even though she's gay.

Degeneres, who dates actress Portia de Rossi, asked the 'You're Beautiful' singer if he was seeing anyone and he offered the lesbian comedienne his telephone number.

He adds: "I am actually very effeminate."

But Degeneres, who came out in 1997 on The Oprah Winfrey Show, says: "It's not going to work. But thanks for trying."
