Kevin Costner combined his passions for acting and music on Friday when his rockabilly band performed in front of 1,000 fans who gathered for a scene in his new movie Swing Vote.

The Oscar winner's group, Modern West, performed a free show at the Santa Fe Rodeo Grounds in New Mexico as a thank you to extras who showed up to appear in a presidential debate scene in the political comedy.

In the movie, Costner discovered he's the man who can decide the next US President - because the vote comes down to him.

Dennis Hopper and Kelsey Grammer play the presidential rivals.
