At last a film with a wonderfully strong female line-up to show that Hollywood doesn’t always treat its women badly.

The story, both sad and uplifting, concerns Anne Grant (Redgrave) who on her deathbed is surrounded by her daughters … discovering all manner of things about their mother.

It is a strong family saga full of secrets revealed, parent-children bonding and a long-suppressed mystery about a man called Harris and how much he meant to Anne.

A cast such as this relishes the terrific writing and the gentle directing and delivers a film of outstanding quality.
