Stereophonics singer hospitalised after club row

Stereophonics singer Kelly Jones is in hospital following a nightclub fracas.

The singer received a serious cut to his arm in the incident outside London club Amika in the early hours of today.

The altercation, allegedly with a member of the club's security team, left the 33-year-old bloodied from a deep two-inch gash to his forearm.

Jones and his fellow bandmates were attending the aftershow party for the Vodafone Live Music Awards.

They had performed at the Earls Court event earlier in the evening before moving on to the party at Amika on Kensington High Street, west London.

A statement from the band said: "Kelly and friends were leaving the club when he had an altercation with an over zealous security guard.

"As a result of the ensuing fracas, Kelly badly injured his arm and is currently in hospital, where he has been since the early hours of this morning awaiting a consultation with a surgeon."

The Welsh band have been forced to cancel an appearance tonight in Cambridge, where they were due to record Channel 4's 'Transmission' show.
