Pavarotti removed wife from house deeds
Late opera singer Luciano Pavarotti removed his wife's name from the ownership of his $16.8m (€12m) mansion two months before he died.
Pavarotti, who lost a battle with cancer earlier this month, had jointly owned the estate with his wife of four years, Nicoletta Mantovanti, but took her name off the building's deeds in July.
It follows reports the 71-year-old was deeply troubled by Mantovanti's constant 'scheming' over money.
It is also thought that a bitter battle is set to break out between the famed tenor's children, ex-wife and widow in spite of recent rift denials by daughters Lorenza, Cristina and Giuliana.
Italian reporter Stefano Sansonetti says, "It obviously leaves one wondering why he wanted it in his own name. It will be very interesting to see who he left it to in his will."
