Bell is making some remarkably good films these days, maturing into a fine actor.

Here he plays the title role, a young man who leaves a troubled past to find work in an Edinburgh hotel where he finds himself drawn to the manager (Myles), who reminds him of his late mother … and she to him.

But his attraction becomes an obsession of stalking and possible tragedy. All he wants is acceptance and loving understanding. But the search for it is fraught.

It is a powerful film in which Bell shines.
