A disappointing account of a famous Stateside case involving the investigation of a former FBI chief, originally for suspected sexual wrongdoing – though his bosses seemed more intent on getting rid of him at any price – and then for something more dangerous.

Phillippe plays the agent doing the investigating who finds that his subject might be selling state secrets.

The problem is that the plot contains little tension, the characters are one-dimensional and we are left wanting much more from a story that required a better telling.
