Doherty disappoints prisoners
Troubled rocker Pete Doherty upset inmates after he was banned from a recent prison gig - they hoped he would help them with their drug addictions.
Prisoners at Pentonville jail in London were left disappointed when a performance by Babyshambles frontman was vetoed by the UK Prison Service over fears he sent out the wrong message.
Doherty has a history of substance abuse and recently escaped a jail sentence for drug possession.
However, inmates at the prison believe a visit by the star would have been beneficial.
One tells British newspaper the Independent: "They should have let him come because he knows he has the same problems as us. The only difference is he can afford the drugs."
Dirty Pretty Things played a set beside the cells in prison on Monday, as part of the Wasted Youth awareness campaign.
