Wilson visited by parents after hospitalisation

The parents and family of actor Owen Wilson have been seen visiting Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A - amid reports the troubled star has been admitted to hospital.

The 38-year-old star was taken by ambulance from his home in Santa Monica, California to the emergency room at LA's St John's Hospital at midday on Sunday.

The National Enquirer and Star magazine are reporting that Wilson tried to kill himself. Sources tell the magazines he cut his wrists and took a number of pills - and was discovered by a family member, who alerted authorities.

On Sunday evening, Wilson's siblings Luke and Andrew and his parents were seen at Cedars-Sinai.

But Wilson makes no mention of the controversy in his statement released yesterday.

He said: "I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time."
