A solid ensemble cast brings class to a story of six individuals linked in the task of finding and keeping love against the odds, all brilliantly directed by Resnais who knows how to find the heart and soul of his characters.

It also helps that this lyrical, poetical film looks good and the playing is universally excellent. Love conquers all … well, most things.
