A film about a one-night stand leading to pregnancy – and with a teen flavour – might not at first appeal. We’ve seen so many such films that the idea isn’t exactly startlingly new.

Yet this one manages to deliver the laughs without any cloying sentiment simply because it treats the subject in an adult manner. Thus when Heigl turns up several months after the said stand to inform Rogan he’s about to become a dad and they decide to try to make a go of the situation we are given a treat … OK, so it’s not the best or most original film of the year but it’s not as bad as you might fear.
