‘Reign Over Me’ a fine drama

Expecting Adam Sandler to carry off the role of a man who attempts to put his life back together having lost his family in the 9/11 tragedy might appear on the surface a risky business, but in ‘Reign Over Me’ (SPHE, €24.99) Sandler proves he’s more than a one-trick pony.

He plays Charlie Fineman, a man whose grief-filled life is interrupted by old friend Alan (Don Cheadle).

Directed by Mike Binder, this is a fine drama, thanks in no small part to the performances of both stars. Apart from a behind the scenes featurette and a photo montage, there’s also an extended jam session with Sandler and Cheadle.
