Flanders movie is a drag

War is hell, as is this minimalistic French drama a farmer shipped off to fight a war in an unspecified Mid-East country. After which knowledge you can slouch back in your seat and enjoy a nap.
Nothing of interest happens – except the awfulness of war with its killings and rapes and inhumanity – and none of the characters come close to enlisting our attention. A curious, unemotional drag.
