Springer to host TV secrets show
Jerry Springer is to front a new confessional TV show for British TV.
'Nothing But the Truth' will encourage participants to reveal their deepest, darkest secrets in front of friends and family with the encouragement of a lie detector test.
Contestants on the Sky One gameshow will have to get through a series of questions such as “Do you love one of your children more than the other?” and “Have you ever worn your wife’s underwear without her knowing?” to win a cash prize.
The US star, who set the mould for confessional TV with the controversial and long-running Jerry Springer Show, will ask the questions.
Nothing But the Truth is part of Sky One’s autumn line-up, which also includes Noel Edmonds hosting Noel’s Christmas Presents.
The Deal or No Deal host will arrange for dreams, such as trips to Lapland for ill children, to come true in the show which will be broadcast on Christmas Day.
The original ran on the BBC for 11 years until 1999.
Other shows include Ross Kemp in Afghanistan, where the former EastEnder joins forces with the British Army, the second series of Cirque de Celebrite, this time hosted by Jenni Falconer, and the third series of Project Catwalk, with Kelly Osbourne.
Sky One Director of Programmes Richard Woolfe said: “Christmas without turkey, crackers or Noel is just not right, so I am thrilled that we’re able to bring back this Christmas institution. This autumn offers a tantalising smorgasbord of delights to whet people’s appetites until the festive season.”
