Jane Seymour faces court over all-night parties

Former Bond girl Jane Seymour was preparing for a court showdown today following complaints of all-night parties at her country home.

Actress Seymour, 56, has a 24-hour alcohol and entertainment licence to hold round-the-clock events at her grade one listed manor, near Bath in England.

But neighbours, fed up with revellers disturbing their tranquillity, say the parties are “totally inappropriate”.

Ian Plaister, local parish council chairman, has led action to overturn her licence.

Mr Plaister said: “They have gone about this in completely the wrong way. What we are concerned about is the public nuisance because traffic is clogging up a road that is only eight feet wide. That is totally inappropriate.

“The anger and frustration about the way in which the owners have chosen to impose a commercial business on local people left us with no choice but legal action.”

The actress and her director husband James Keach, 59, face a first appearance in court on August 14. It is not yet known whether Seymour, who was unavailable for comment, will attend.

As part of the legal action, council officers are investigating if the property needs planning permission for change of use to operate commercially as a venue.

Seymour renovated the manor with her husband, whom she married in 1993. The couple reportedly live there for three months of the year and rent out the property for private functions.
