Smurfs and G.I. Joe movies announced

Cartoon characters The Smurfs and G.I. Joe will make their movie debuts following the success of summer blockbuster Transformers.

The animated creatures will be joined by Alvin and the Chipmunks and He-Man as a wave of television cartoon characters of the past are re-worked for the big screen.
