Some 50 acts will perform scores of shows at the Bud Light Revue in Dublin including well-known names Tommy Tiernan, Des Bishop and Colin Murphy.

Although tonight’s opening stand-up shows were completely sold out a few tickets remain for Saturday and Sunday’s gigs in four fully-seated marquees in Iveagh Gardens.

Australian Steve Hughes, who was a huge hit at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Britain’s popular live sketch show ’We Are Klang’, are among those who will be raising the spirits.

Also appearing are Simon Munnery, Guy Pratt, Jim Jeffries and Emo Philips, considered by many to be the greatest joke writer in the world.
