Biggest-ever bet placed on Big Brother eviction

Bookies Paddy Power have taken their biggest ever single bet on the Big Brother series to date.

The wager, which was placed by an Irish punter, is a huge €50,000 bet on Big Brother housemate Nicky to be evicted tomorrow night at the skimpy odds of 1/100.

This would return a profit of just €500 to the punter in question should Nicky get the boot as expected.

Following this bet, Nicky is now at odds of 1/200 with Paddy Power to end her stay in the Big Brother house tomorrow night.

This is the shortest price of any housemate ever to face eviction since the show began back in 1999. Nicky's fellow evictee, Gerry, looks safe as houses as can be backed at 22/1 to go before Nicky.

Paddy Power said: "A bet of this size illustrates how the Big Brother Show has developed into a serious betting event. Since the show began eight years ago, betting has increased 10-fold and this trend can also be seen across other live TV reality shows."
