TV drama well worth a look

Fascinating, gripping and compulsive, Homicide: Life on the Street, The Complete Second Series (Freemantle,€59.99) boasts a strong cast — Ned Beatty, Andre Braugher and Yaphet Kotto — and some great storylines as the Baltimore Homicide Team gets to grips with the latest bloody cases.

Unusual camera work and a refusal to embrace the usual cop-action clichés ensured Homicide was a critical success.
