Snoop Dogg seeks Australian citizenship

Rapper Snoop Dogg has launched a campaign to gain Australian citizenship.

The hip-hop star, real name Calvin Broadus, was due to co-host the MTV Australia Video Music Awards in Sydney in April, but was refused entry into the country because of his criminal record and recent run-ins with the law.

Now the singer has launched a campaign to overturn the decision with MTV in Australia by running a series of short films of Snoop posing for photographs in various Australian hotspots and purchasing a home in Sydney.

Snoop tells the film: "Journey with me as I become a citizen of the land Down Under."
