Doherty arrives at court after warrant is issued
Singer Pete Doherty arrived at court today to face drugs charges minutes after a warrant was issued for his arrest.
District Judge Davinder Lachhar issued the warrant at West London Magistrates’ Court when Doherty was almost two and a half hours late for his court appearance.
Moments later, Doherty appeared at the courthouse, where was due to face charges including possession of a Class A drug.
His car first pulled in and then drove off again before dropping the singer off.
As the 28-year-old walked in he tried to avoid the mass of photographers crowded outside the entrance.
Moments before the district judge had issued a warrant saying: “This is a court of law. He should have been here at 9.30 and he isn’t. I am giving a warrant with no bail.”
