Streisand honoured in France

Barbara Streisand has been awarded France's most coveted prize after she was inducted into the French Legion Of Honour.

The diva was handed her accolade by President Nicholas Sarkozy at a formal ceremony held at the Elysee palace on Thursday, following a concert in Paris.

The induction is France's most prestigious civilian distinction.

Streisand's Tuesday night show at the Bercy venue was attended by 10,000 fans.
