Mel C defends Spice Girls U-turn

Spice Girl Melanie Chisholm has defended her U-turn to reform the girl group after previously declaring she was against a reunion.

While promoting her fourth solo album This Time earlier this year, the singer - also known as Sporty Spice - said she "against" the 90s five-piece reuniting, declaring the Spice Girls were of their time.

When the five original band members reunited in Greenwich, London on Thursday to announce an official "goodbye" tour in 11 cities around the world, the press asked Chisholm why she had changed her mind so quickly.

She said: "A girl's allowed to change her mind. This is something that we've only seriously started discussing this year."
