Stars join McCartney for birthday bash

Veteran rocker Paul McCartney invited a host of celebrity friends to celebrate his 65th birthday with him in London on Tuesday night.

The 'Yesterday' hitmaker invited The Beatles' former producer George Martin, supermodel Kate Moss, actress Natalie Portman, actor Mackenzie Crook, Texas frontwoman Sharleen Spiteri, filmmaker Richard Curtis and Sir Elton John and his spouse David Furnish to the fancy dress party at his north London home.

Moss' on/off boyfriend Pete Doherty was not with her, but Jefferson Hack - the father of her daughter Lila Grace - attended with his girlfriend Anouck Lepere.

McCartney's daughters, photographer Mary and fashion designer Stella, were also in attendance.

The theme of the party was vintage Hollywood.
