Aren’t there any nice friendly motels left in the world? Are they all mad-house establishments where blood and gore is the only thing on the menu?
Not in this film, anyway, as Beckinsale and Wilson find themselves in California, fetch up at an isolated motel and realise they might be the intended stars in a snuff movie.
It’s a fairly standard horror flick, though it does manage to climb above most of what we have been offered of late. Problem is that it’s really not all that frightening and is saved only by the menacing atmosphere created by director Antal.
You will certainly have watched worse.
