The widow of late Beatle John Lennon has issued a statement dismissing the recent reports, which claimed she consumed pitta bread filled with Corgi meat while live on Resonance FM.

It reads: "This allegation is completely untrue and highly defamatory,"

The Press Association news agency has apologised to the 74-year-old.
