Rod serenades future bride
Singing legend Rod Stewart has dedicated a love song to fianceé Penny Lancaster, whom he is set to wed in two weeks' time.
Stewart, was performing before the Queen at a reception in aid of the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) last night.
He gave a rendition of the song 'The Way You Look Tonight', which he dedicated to his fiancee, adding: "We're getting married in two weeks' time."
The event, before a seated audience at St James's Palace in central London, marked the merger of the RNIB and the National Library for the Blind (NLB).
The private reception, also attended by the Duke of Edinburgh, saw Stewart perform in softly lit surroundings as Lancaster, wearing a black dress with metallic "snake" detail, looked on.
The RNIB and the NLB joined forces to create a single specialist library catering for readers with sight loss in January 2007.
The new RNIB National Library Service combines the resources of both charities, giving blind and partially sighted people a wider choice of titles and formats.
