Flyboys movie won't grab your attention

Round up the usual suspects and send ‘em off to hunt the Hun in the WW1 skies of France … in what is a not-very-convincing flying yarn featuring the brave boys of the Lafayette Escadrille.

OK, so the fight scenes are quite good as the old stringbags weave and dodge through the clouds but it’s when the humans turn up that the project takes a prang. The storyline is weak, the characters so stereotypical and a cast that doesn’t grab our attention … going down in flames!

Better search out that old b/w classic Hell’s Angels for a real WW1 flying treat.
