Piper and Evan's divorce to be made official

Billie Piper and Chris Evans are set to make their two-year split official.

The couple eloped to Las Vegas in 2001 and married when Piper was just 18, but their relationship broke down after three years together and they parted ways amicably in 2004.

Radio and TV personality Evans recently applied for a decree nisi (a stage of the divorce proceedings) at London's High Court, and its pronouncement is scheduled to go through this week.

However, it will take a further six weeks for the process to be finalised.

The Doctor Who actress recently stated that she would not be asking for spousal support - even though Evans is worth an estimated £30m (€44m).

She said: "I'm not taking a penny from him. I think that would be disgusting."
