Scorsese launches cinema foundation

Director Martin Scorsese is hoping to preserve neglected films for posterity with the launch of his World Cinema Foundation yesterday.

The legendary moviemaker told reporters at the Cannes Film Festival in France the project was inspired by a similar venture in America, set up in collaboration with George Lucas, Steven Spielberg and Clint Eastwood.
