New virus film let down by poor script

Oh good, the Americans have come to save us. Or not, as the case may be.

28 Weeks Later

Director: Juan Carlos Fresnadillo

Cast: Catherine McCormack, Robert Carlyle, Amanda Walker

Oh good, the Americans have come to save us.

Or not, as the case may be.

We are in a world – or rather a London – devastated by the deadly virus Rage. Mankind teeters on the brink of oblivion … but the United States Army arrives to restore order and bring back what’s left of civilisation.

Until a carrier fetches up and the fearful Rage gets a second grip.

Another doomsday scenario with what is essentially good storyline, is completely ruined by a banal script not to mention lots of shouting (American soldiers apparently can’t function without shouting) and as stupid a collection of heroes as you’d ever not hope to see on screen.

You know you’re doomed when the Yanks come to your rescue!
