Carné films sure to please fans

Lovers of French cinema will be interested in Quai Des Brunes and Le Jour Se Léve (Optimum, €21.99 each), two films by Marcel Carné starring Jean Gabin.

In the former, a deserter awaits a chance to flee France but stumbles on a strange couple with unforeseen consequences, while in the latter film a murderer contemplates his bad luck as he looks back at how life took the wrong turn.
