Green Crow falls out with US chief of staff

Singer Sheryl Crow reportedly had a falling out with US political heavyweight Karl Rove after trying to touch the Deputy Chief Of Staff's arm midway through a green policy debate.

Crow, who has been touring American colleges with environmentalist Laurie David to raise awareness about global warming, attended a White House Correspondents' Dinner in Washington, D.C. on Saturday.

According to New York Daily News columnists Rush & Molloy, Crow and David got into a heated exchange about climate change with Rove.

When Crow reached out to touch Rove's arm, he reportedly said: "Don't touch me," to which Crow replied: "You can't speak to us like that, you work for us."

Rove is then said to have retorted, "I don't work for you, I work for the American people."

Rove told the Washington Post that David "came over to insult me and she succeeded".
