Richard's mother dead at 91

The mother of rocker Keith Richards passed away on Saturday in her native Britain.

Doris Richards, 91, died at the weekend with The Rolling Stones guitarist by her bedside, a spokeswoman for the Gimme Shelter star confirmed yesterday.

The cause of death and exact location have not been disclosed.

The rocker - an only child - was due to pay tribute to late music mogul Ahmet Ertegun in New York last Tuesday, but chose to skip the memorial to remain by his ailing mother's side.

Doris Richards is also survived by three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
