Winehouse to wed on/off boyfriend

Singer Amy Winehouse is engaged to boyfriend Blake Fielder-Civil, after making him wait 24 hours for her answer.

The star - who was spotted flashing a ring on her engagement finger at a London gig on Thursday - has confirmed she will wed her on/off boyfriend, whom she has been dating for the last month.

Fielder-Civil popped the question after an alcohol-fuelled night out in London earlier this week, and Winehouse took her time to think about it before she accepted.

"He proposed at home a few days ago and I took a day to finally agree" she said. "Obviously we are both young and it is frightening. But it is the right thing to do. That is why I agreed.

"I'm a very lucky girl to have found someone I love so much. I hope to be with him for the rest of my life. We haven't set a date yet or anything."

The couple originally met more than two years ago, but split in 2006 after he was caught cheating on the singer.
