Da Vinci sequel set to go ahead

Tom Hanks and Ron Howard are set to reunite for the prequel to the smash hit film 'The Da Vinci Code'.

Despite being slammed by critics, 'The Da Vinci Code' took $758m (€560m) worldwide, and the film's star Hanks and director Howard are in final negotiations to make 'Angels & Demons' - which takes place before the events of 'The Da Vinci Code'.

It sees Hanks' character Robert Langdon tackling the Illuminati and the Vatican.

The film, which is once again based on one of Dan Brown's bestselling thrillers, will be written by Akiva Goldsman, who also adapted the original film.
