Gallagher: 'I'm not going solo'

Oasis rocker Noel Gallagher has played down suggestions he is going solo.

The Don't Look Back In Anger hitmaker recently admitted he has written a selection of songs that are not right for the best selling band but would be great for a solo album.

He said: "'I've got a backlog now of about four or five songs which are probably too far in the past as far as the band is concerned, but which could work on my record - it's coming."

However, his spokesperson denied he is going solo, saying: "He is not preparing a solo career."
