The identity of the father of Anna Nicole Smith’s infant daughter could be revealed in Nassau, Bahamas, today in the latest round in the custody dispute pitting the former Playboy Playmate’s ex-boyfriend against her lawyer-turned-partner.

Former Smith boyfriend Larry Birkhead and partner Howard K Stern were both expected to attend the closed-door hearing in the custody fight over the girl, Dannielynn, who could inherit a fortune in the wake of her mother’s February death.

A DNA specialist who analysed a sample taken from the child on March 21 was also expected to attend the session, which is closed to the public and media.

Birkhead, a California photographer, claims to be the father of the infant and is seeking custody from Stern, who is listed on the birth certificate as her father.

Smith’s mother, Virgie Arthur, is also seeking custody of the baby, who was born in the Bahamas in September.

James Neavitt, an attorney for Stern, said last month that his client would be open to a negotiated settlement with Birkhead if the test proves Stern is not the biological father.
