Jay-Z denies paternity of model's 'lovechild'

Hip-hop mogul Jay-Z has vehemently denied he is the father of a Trinidadian model's five-year-old son.

Recent internet reports suggest the rapper conceived a child with Shenelle Scott, 26, in 2001 - three years after meeting on the set of his video 'Big Pimpin'.

Rumours claimed Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, paid Scott $1m (€744,550) on condition his name was not on the baby's birth certificate.

The child was born on January 30, 2002 in Los Angeles.

However, the star's spokesperson told AllHipHop.com: "There is no truth to these ridiculous rumours.

"People should be ashamed of using this kind of story and exploiting a child for publicity and ratings."

Jay-Z has been in a relationship with superstar Beyonce Knowles since 2002.
