Spice Girls 'demanding £1m per show'

British pop band The Spice Girls have been accused of only being interested in a reunion "for the money", after reportedly demanding £1m (€1.48m) per show, according to British newspaper The Sunday Express.

The Wannabe stars, who split in 2000, are said to be in talks for a Take That-style comeback tour, but promoters are wary of backing the shows because they fear they will not be able to recoup the costs of staging the concerts.

"The difference is that Take That weren't just in it for the money," said a source. "They worked hard, wrote a new album and made their show a great spectacle.

"No one is convinced that the Spice Girls can still do that.

"The money they want will leave nothing for the promoters. Nobody wants to take them on."
