Jack White cast as Elvis

The White Stripes frontman Jack White is to play Elvis Presley in a new movie.

The Blue Orchid star will appear as the late rock 'n' roll icon in Walk Hard, a film about a fictional rock star.

The role isn't the first time White has stepped in front of the cameras - he had a part in Cold Mountain and played himself in Coffee and Cigarettes opposite his bandmate Meg White.
